"This is an airport--you're supposed to be quick here."

--words of wisdom (and by wisdom I obviously mean folly) from a grumpy man in the London airport.

We're here we're here we're HERE!

As much as I'm sure you'd love to hear about the extremely long and uneventful day and a half of flying from  the US of A to Bucharest, Romania, and then the four hour car ride to Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania...that's really all there is to it. I will say that being the only one of us who hasn't traveled on any plane bigger than a 737, I turned into a wide-eyed little baby at the sight of our massive British Airways 747 we took from Dallas to London...I like big airplanes.
We settled into our apartment last night! By settled, I really mean that after trying some cheese we'll never try again, Parker immediately went to sleep while Jessica and I watched Jurassic Park and unpacked. ;) Really, the three of us figuring out the most basic skills (ie working the stove, dealing with converters, working the washer) is quite the comedy of errors. Jess and I have learned quickly that Parker is the typical "I am man, I need no map" kinda guy...who of course takes us on the scenic routes to get anywhere and everywhere in the city. Hahaha. Our apartment is a cozy place and the perfect size for the three of us to live in and have readers come. Today we walked around the city a little bit, found a store (and then carried a ton of groceries back home in our arms...erm, never mind that story), and even tried out some Romanian fast food that our new friend (and HUGE help) Maria, showed us to. Yum Yum!
This afternoon, we had our information meeting at the Red Cross building and had 21+ people sign up! this is great news. We start our sessions tomorrow morning! Praise God--He is wonderful!
We're so thankful for all of your support and prayer. Please continue to pray for this mission! We love you all and I know we each have stories to share with you already.

God Bless!

  1. Ok- try some mamaliga and prejits. If you want plain water and not mineral water say apa plata. I miss Romania every single day! Also, remember to bring home souveniers for your friends and family- they will want some lol. Painted eggs and secret boxes are wonderful and relatively cheap. I hope y'all have a safe trip and I pray many people will come to the Lord. God bless you!
