How exactly did we three 20-year-old college students come together as a team?
Jessica and Parker knew each other in high school, and Jessica played a key role in bringing Parker to church and introducing him to the Lord. Nikki and Jessica met at Oklahoma Christian University their freshmen year in the Chorale. Their sophomore year, they decided to be roommates. It didn't take long for each of them to discover the other's passion for Christ and spreading his word. Through Jessica, Nikki and Parker were soon introduced and again, discovered one another's obvious passion for furthering the kingdom.
In the fall semester, Parker and Jessica decided to go on an LST mission trip in the summer of 2011. Parker had never been on a mission trip, and they wanted to go somewhere neither of them had been before. In January, the other two OC students originally part of Jess and Parker's team had to drop out, which left Parker and Jess in need of a third member. When Jessica explained their dilemma during "roommate time," Nikki decided to consider and pray about the possibility of joining their team; she had gone on domestic mission trips before, but had never left the USA. Two days later, the three of them were officially signed up as Team OC 3.
Within a week, fundraising letters were being written and mailed. Now, months later, thanks to the help of friends, family, and complete strangers alike, Team OC 3 is ready to share the love of Christ in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania.
