Reading sessions have begun!
Well, it's 9:30pm here and we are all exhausted. For whatever unholy reason, Parker and I both woke up before 5am and couldn't get back to sleep, and Jess woke up shortly after. It made for a nice, leisurely morning as we had nothing to do until 9 when our first readers came, but we paid for it in sleepiness later on. Fortunately, we're all finished with today's to-do's (including a trip with Maria down to the Police station to register...or something like that) and after a tasty dinner at a local restaurant, are settling in for bed.
Today we were blessed with great first sessions with our readers! We truly have an extremely wide variety of students, ranging from a young boy with a learning disability Jessica is reading with, to a woman reading with Parker who's already studied nearly all of LST's material before, to a young tri-athlete I began reading with today (and yes, Ben, I got to check out his bike). We also had more people call and sign up today, and we're now rapidly approaching a completely full schedule of readers! The people here are so eager to learn and improve their English skills, and to go with that, they are loving and ready to embrace new friendships. It's truly a blessing to be able to be here with them.
Oh, right, I have pictures...after Saturday I promise I'll have a lot more. ;)
After finding out that our flight out of London was delayed due to a broken toilet.
4 hour car ride from Bucharest to Sf. Gheorghe = this.
We made lunch! ...it looks better than it tasted, unfortunately.
But you know, it wasn't terrible. ;)
God Bless!
